I grew up in the small country Queensland town of Maryborough and attended the local Christian Brothers and High School there. I am married with three adult children, two boys and a girl and have been blessed with seven grandchildren, three boys and four girls.
I graduated from the University of Queensland in 1968, and then worked at the Mater Hospitals for three years before undertaking specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in England.
On my return to Brisbane I worked initially with the University of Queensland in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology where I taught 5th and 6th year medical students. I then moved gradually into both public and private Obstetric practice, practicing publicly at both the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mater Mother’s Hospital, and privately at the Wesley Hospital, Sunnybank Hospital and Mater Mother’s Hospital.
I currently practice privately, offering deliveries exclusively at Mater Mother’s Private Hospital, and gynaecological procedures at the Mater Private Hospital, South Brisbane.
Currently I am a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology, and also a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London.
